Enamhûl i'Ískain

(a.k.a. The First Wyvernthrope)

Hubris is a funny thing. You never realize that it is creeping up on you even though everyone around you can see it as clearly as if it was written across your forehead.   Thus was the fate of Enamhûl i'Iskain, son of a Cave Under Snows prostitute and future idiot lord of a small group of hopefuls.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Enamhûl was sickly looking and withdrawn unless he wished to manipulate those around him. Life underground was not kind to him and thus he was not physically strong. Despite that, his strength was normal and it was enough to keep others from trying to intimidate him.

Personal history

Enamhûl i'Ískain was born in the caves at the end of the Epoch of Snow. He knew nothing about privacy or any form of respect in his community that was derived from the actions of his single mother. This caused him to dream of a future where he meant something, where people no longer stepped on him. This future would seem to become more attainable when it was discovered that the skies were clearing and the snow had all but melted away.   He was 23 years old when he emerged onto the surface along with most of those who were eager to see the sky again. He quickly reinvented himself, changing his name to Kayalké so he could leave his past behind. He knew that he would need allies so he could accomplish his goals—to carve out a kingdom of his own. So he went around making "friends".   By the time a few years had passed, he had amassed quite the following. He had garnered the title of 'Lord' by his followers, who looked upon him with admiration for his perserverance. He began to find allies in other groups, including a mysterious group from across the mountains, who called themselves the "Thiri".   The leader of the Thiri took Kayalké aside one day and complemented him on his ambition. He then mentioned something that might help him achieve his goals: with power, Kayalké could achieve his goals with ease and people would bow down to him in admiration of him and his power.   Kayalké lapped up all the information the leader told him, and a flame erupted inside his chest. The leader told him of a fruit hidden away by Dragons of the mountains that seperated the lands of the Thiri from the rest of the world. This fruit was said to be the favourite treat of the dragons, and that it was the source of the dragons' elemental breaths. If Kayalké was able to get his hands on one of these fruits, he would be able to tap into that same power, would he not?   But it was a dangerous quest, for the dragons guarded the fruit jealously.   Despite that, Kayalké set out eagerly, and soon came upon the valley that lead him towards his goal. He followed the signs and scratches left behind by the dragons until he finally came across his goal.   He tried to sneak past the sleeping dragon that guarded the lone table that carried the fruit the Leader had told him of. At first, it seemed that he had succeeded and that he might just be able to sneak away with the fruit. But then—   "You have arrived."   It turns out that the leader of the Thiri was not actually a leader of the Thiri, but a dragon in disguise. This dragon, Algath, The Fulgur King, had taken it upon himself to go out and mess with a chosen human—Kayalké in this instance—to try and alleviate his boredom.   Despite the trickery, Kayalké found himself drawn in by Algath's words. Algath wove words of deceit that sucked Kayalké in all the way to the point that all doubts were driven away by the promises of power and glory. No one would make fun of him for his bloodline anymore. No one would be able to ever pin his mother's sins to him ever again. With such power, he would be a king and he would gain all the respect he deserved and more.   So Kayalké took the fruit and cracked it open. The diamond-like shell cracked easier than first seemed, revealing a fleshy pink inside flecked with dark seeds. He quickly scooped the fruit up with his hand and ate it all before any doubts could creep in.   As soon as he finished, Algath let out a low chuckle. He then tells Kayalké the truth.   The fruit wouldn't grant its consumer the power of a dragon, and now Kayalké had been inflicted with what amounted to as a curse.   This was the moment Wyvernthropy entered into the world of Eldûra.   In horror, Kayalké fled from that sanctuary of vipers, and tried to return to civilization in hopes of forgetting what had happened. That only lasted until four of the world's seven moons hung full in the sky. That night, Kayalké transformed into a wyvern in front of all of his followers, and he was hunted down until he was killed by those who had once looked upon him with reverence.
