Moon-steel

When it comes to moon-steel, there is only one use for it. But, it has a very important purpose–which is why it’s unfortunate that it is so difficult to mine.   Moon-steel is a strong, yet pliable metal that is coveted by all who have to wear armour and wield a weapon. It is light, and in the right hands it can be shaped into a suit of armour that has been said to feel like a second skin. If fashioned into chain mail, it is said to be able to shield its wearer from arrows and knives.   Moon-steel can be forged into any type of bladed weapon needed, but the most popular tend to be swords, greatswords, and knives. The piercing power of moon-steel is unmatched–only sun-steel from Beht’adur could hope to match its sharpness. Moon-steel blades are the only weapons that are guaranteed to be able to pierce moon-steel armour, and when it comes to all other armours these blades are said to cut through them like butter. This fact is mostly unproven due to the fact that these weapons are so rare and have had only two recorded instances of being used ever (as of 1758 ERG).   The colour of moon-steel is unmatched by any other metal that can be found. When found in ore veins, it shares a lustre with the gemstone onyx, which has led many elvish geologists to speculate that moon-stone is related to the gem somehow. When it is worked in the forge and then formed into the desired object, the metal will glitter faintly under direct sunlight and the sheen cast by sunlight is a vibrant silvery white. It is a gorgeous sight which is complimented by filigree of silver or platinum.   When it comes to finding moon-steel, it can only be found in two places: the scorching and very deep crater of Húra Génna (the Flaming Mountain) which can be found on the peninsula directly south of the south tip of the Dragonstone Mountains. The only other place known where you can find moon-steel is deep within the geyser field of Péwen Bamíbinnoth, which can be found in the crook of the mountains that cradles Eldondi and protects the majority of the continent from Norethir. Home of the enigmatic entity that is whispered to be a pyroclastic mentari, moon-steel is hinted to be cultivated by this mysterious individual and is not given out lightly.
