Heart of Vengeances

by Marc Zipper (Valcin)

As you put your hand on the hilt. You feel the warmth from the hilt. A sudden beat resonates through the sword right into your body. Kind of reminds you of a heartbeat, then you feel another one drawing you to the heart in the middle of the guard. Then you feel another beat happen and the heart pumps. As you start to feel sadness, sorrow, and frustration all at once. So much so that you're about to burst into tears. Until the next beat happens, then you feel a buildup of anger, rage, and determination inside of you. With each beat, it just fills your mind, and you begin to think about the people that have wronged you and the creatures that have gotten in your way. Until it focused your mind on the person or creature who had done the most wrong and caused you the most pain. You become focused on taking care of anything in front of you and then going after your primary target.

Lore

You want to know the history of the sword. This event occurred in a far-off kingdom long ago. The young man had just finished his apprenticeship. He was going to become the town's next blacksmith. He was incredibly happy, considering the number of people from the town and his family who he had missed and will get to see soon. He can't wait to have a warm welcome to his home when he gets there, but sadly that's not what happened. As he got closer to town, it was dead quiet. He observed that the fences and gates had been destroyed. He even smelled ash and blood in the air. So, he ran to his home and it was a sight to behold. The entire town had been slaughtered and everything was ransacked or destroyed. In the center of the town was the town leader, beheaded. He found a banner on the ground that was from the neighboring Kingdom. He went looking for a weapon, but they were all taken with all the oars and the material to make one. He screamed up to the world, asking for help to forge a blade to take down the king. Surprisingly, something answered and gave him a way to make a sword. This was done by drawing out all the metal from all the town folks' blood. He saw that as a way for them to get vengeance on the people that did them wrong, but he also put his heart into the middle of the hilt. As long as he is holding on to the sword, he will live with what actually worked to his benefit to storming a castle. You will need more than a one-man army. Now an immortal who could just keep taking hits and dissing it back out, which he did until he found the king. When he got him in his eyes, he lost all sense of self and charged him, killing him. That is the story that has been told. What is true, what is not known that's for you to discover.
