The Frist Gorgon

A long time ago, a lovely lady named Chloe Lazos was in a small kingdom. She has raven hair, fair skin, and green eyes. She might choose any man, but she prefers the young Lord. She came the closest to having him. When they went on a walk, had picnic lunches, or just talked. He was more interested in reptiles and snakes. His eyes lit up when he spoke or saw a snake. She wants him to look at her the same way. It irritated her that she couldn't gain his whole focus or for him to light up like that for her.One day, a lady in a pink outfit approached her. Telling Chloe that her heart was broken seeing Chloe's love was not fully reciprocated. She has a tonic for Chloe that will help her capture the young Lord's eye and keep it fixed on her. Chloe was skeptical, wondering what the woman wanted. The woman only stated that she would need a favor from her in due time, and she also wanted to assist her in finding the love, which she genuinely desires. Chloe took the tonic and promised to return the favor if it worked. Chloe was desperate and was willing to do anything.

Now, the woman in Pink advised her to take it shortly before she saw the young lord for optimum impact. So that night, she went to see the young lord. As the young Lord spoke about his favorite snake, she drank the tonic. She did not feel well at first, and her body felt strange. Her lovely legs began to link to one another and develop scales. Her hips to feet were replaced with a green snake tail. Chole's hair began to move and hiss, becoming a black serpents. Her emerald eyes turned a shade of yellow, and her round pupil became a slit. As leathery wings erupted from her back and sharp claws extended from her fingers, Chloe realized too late that she had become a monstrous reflection of the snakes her beloved cherished.

But her joy came in the cruelest form: the young lord, upon seeing her transformed state, stared at her with awe—for the first time, he gazed at her with the fascination she had longed for. Yet his admiration was short-lived, as her new eyes, filled with the cursed magic of the tonic, petrified him into stone. Chloe’s heart broke as she watched the man she loved become an eternal statue, doomed to forever gaze at her.

Chloe began to cry over the statue, realizing she had been duped and that she was ugly and her love were a statue. Distraught and realizing she had been deceived, Chloe wept beside the stone figure. The woman in pink reappeared, taunting Chloe with her fate. "He now looks at you as you always desired," the woman said, "and he will never look away."   Thus, Chloe became the first Gorgon, cursed to live eternally as a creature of both beauty and horror. Her story is a reminder that desire, unchecked, can lead to devastation. To this day, Gorgons like Chloe wander the lands of Elema, embodying the tragic consequences of a wish fulfilled in the worst possible way.

Nothing good ever comes of tricks meant to get the attention who just don't want to look, I guess. So sad.
