Sehih Greetings, Farewells, and Other Phrases

Greetings:

  • To a water tribe (Sehih) council member: Honored guru, I seek council.
  • To Kaisar Kawicaksanan (leader of the council): One with roh banyu, I request an audience.
  • To a Sehih warrior: Mighty bek, I salute you.
  • To an ambegan: Bakat lan tetrem, balanced ambegan. (If wanting to use a station) A humble lelungan seeks passage.
  • In general: bakat lan tetrem (talent and peace)

Farewells:

  • To a Sehih council member: Honored guru, I thank you for your council.
  • To a Sehih warrior: Mighty bek, I thank you.
  • To an ambegan: Wisdom in roh banyu. I honor you.
  • In general: Strength in roh banyu.

General:

  • “Returned to roh banyu” is used in place of any specific references to death
  • Kahayag is basically a swear word. She was an Unbalanced ‘historian’ who wrote fiction as objective truth and caused a lot of disrespect and hatred from the fire tribe. Use it like Gorlog for the Scandinavians (i.e. “Kahayag’s one wart, this is tough!” or “Kahayag’s shaky hands, I’m so nervous right now!” or “Kahayag’s rotting corpse, that was awesome!!!”).
  • The water tribe doesn’t keep track of lineage as much as they keep track of profession.
  • Unbalanced: An insult reserved for fire tribe members
  • Flame-Killer: An insult directed towards water tribe members, used by fire tribe members
  • Sehih: The term used by water tribe members to refer to themselves.
  • Sedulur ing roh: Siblings in spirit. Used to refer exclusively to silver streaks.
  • Bakat lan tetrem: An expression of goodwill
  • Roh banyu: Water spirit
  • Lelungan udara: A member of the air tribe. A phrase used to invoke memories of goodwill between the water tribe and the air tribe. A good phrase to use if you want air tribe members on your side.
