Silverwells

The salt on the air greets your nose as you exit the hilly and forested mountainside. The City, this Gem of the North gleams off in the distance and across the fjords and plains spilling out before you the small ant-like silhouettes of far off travelers on various roads converge towards the City. Its walls are thick and stand tall and defiant hugging the rocky coastal cliffs to one side and shading some of the numerous farmsteads found without the walls.  As you approach the sounds of the city start to fill the air along with sea birds flying over head. The ramparts manned with Men and other humanoids in the colors of Black and Silver. The colors of the Silverwells.  At the gates guards stop and question travelers as the enter the city and inspect goods for contraband taking tax and bribes where need be. 

Silverwells is a condensed fortress city located in the North-Western Coast of Silverwell's Territory. The First true city built in Ruthnar by men and is as ancient as the race itself. Silver well is a Center fortress on a hill overlooking the city spread it out in a circle from the center. Its walls sit on average about 30 feet in height rising in some places to as high as 50 feet with Gatehouses on the East, West, and South of the City. Originally named Silverwells due to the city sitting on a huge silver deposit that gave the city a lot of its wealth and Prestige. The mine now sits all but empty but the mine has been converted into a fortress unto itself with vast wealth of the surrounding mountainside stowed within. The city itself is a representation of Ancient wealth and the intense desire to hoard and safeguard such things.
