The Warforged

The warforged are a species of semi-robotic, plant-based organisms of seemingly magical origin which were discovered around the year 2970 deep in a catacomb within the mountain range bordering Grothmar. Upon discovery the warforged appeared innert, as if waiting for a command to move. Over the next several years, scholars were able to decipher the runes etched into their interior plating and activate them. Left in their wake was a massive black scar upon the land, as if the entire army had been obliterated. Meanwhile, the few warforged who were not directly involved in the battle had suddenly deactivated. While the Last Alliance went on to end the war, the warforged battalion was never seen again, and the remaining warforged remained unable to be reawakened.   Around the year 3175, the warforged bodies that had been stored away after not being active for nearly two centuries began to stir and reawaken, only this time with almost no memories of a past life. Meanwhile, reports of strange metal humanoids have started to surface in the far reaches of Elendil...
