Act 1, Session 2: The Lost Apprentice

After making their way to Three Rivers, the party continues looking for Shandalar.

Plot points/Scenes

The party arrives in Three Streams and is led by Truffle to the local in, that is rather shabby and called the Broken Staff and is run by dwarf named Shuda. Before entering Jory and Crong see a group of thugs outside with Jory noticing a red bat badge each are wearing. After questioning the inn keep they learn that he believes them to be responsible for the missing folks and points them to the mayor, Regda. After eating their meager meal they decide to rest and investigate further the next morning.
After a cold rainy night the party seems to choke down most of their breakfast and make their way to the mayor's office where they discover the Arcane Watch is present. During their meeting with the mayor they learn that 5-6 years ago the ruby bats were run out of another village due to running trafficking of people. After they arrived in Three Streams is roughly when the missing people began. Most of the disappearances were 3-4 miles west of Three Streams with no bodies or personal effects ever found minus Shandalar's cart. The party decides to investigate the area where the disappearances occur.
Once on sight they investigate the cart finding some long gouges on the back of the cart. Jory locates some tracks shortly after Mirella smells smoke. Investigating they are ambushed by a group at a patrol camp and battle ensues. Mirella and Theo are knocked down but with the aide of Truffles bow they handle the foes and investigate the camp locating information on a more permanent encampment nearby. The party decides to take a long rest to recoup before the excursion into the encampment. During that time a thick fog rolls in obscuring in hope of moving on that day.....
