Battle for Faribyr

The village outpost of Faribyr is assaulted by a combination of hobgoblins, ogres, and some ballista.  With the aid of the Raven's Alliance the attack is thwarted.

The Conflict

Prelude

While the Raven's Alliance was in the Barrow Fen swamps investigating a recent attack and kidnapping in Drafalls the armies of the Black Hand moved into position.

Deployment

When signs of Faribyr being encapsulated by enemy forces the gates were barred and manned, the walls were alerted and the militia and Gashak's band prepared to defend the southern gate on the first day.

Battlefield

A contingent of hobgoblin and ogres assail the southern gates while the remainder with it's commander make plans to assault the northern side of the village outpost approximately 20 minutes away.

Conditions

Conditions during the days of battle were both warm and sunny.

The Engagement

During the initial engagement, Gashak and his forces defend the south gate from a detachment of hobgoblins and ogres with the aid of Raven's Alliance.  Quickly clearing the field they move in to prepare defenses.  The next day word comes that forces are moving to flank the eastern and western sides of the outpost.  Ealdhet along with archers protect the western wall from the incoming forces and it's ballista while the Faribyr cavalry deploys to assail the eastern forces.  The Raven's Alliance moves with stealth around the assaulting force to assail the command encampment.  They elimate the initial patrol and take the fight to the occupied hillock where they eliminate the commander and his priest advisor.

Outcome

When the Raven's Alliance returns with maps and documents it becomes clear that the attack was a diversion for a much larger scaled assault elsewhere.
