Anatomy

Whisperlings are rarely seen. However, common consensus is that they are small, about the size of a cat, with thin fur of variegated colour. Their large yellow eyes are a commonly seen feature, and it is said that when unable to run, they will fight back against attackers with sharp claws. Their poison is said to drive people mad. They are extremely fast and agile, and that is why they are rarely sighted. This is down to their small stature, shy nature, and their ability to glide through the air on bat-like wings.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are said to feed on anything from sheep blood to poisonous berries. The truth is that they catch and eat insects. They are extremely intelligent and once they have killed the insect they will remove its hard carapace and eat the flesh inside.

They have better sight than anything else in the forest, and it is rumoured that they have a complex speech pattern that they use to communicate threats.
