Kingdom of Rodna

Kingdom of Rodna is one of largest human kingdoms on Zem. Current king Svatopluk II "The Great "has during his reign faced many turmoils, that he overcame earning him a reputation, as one of the greatest rulers of Rodna. But do to his failing health and unresolved succession Kingdom of Rodna may be on brink of civil war.

Law And Goverment

Kingdom of Rodna is ruled by king, as an absolute monarchy word of a king is the law. Although all decision are not made solely by king himself. Elder council is group of advisors who aid the king in governing this vast kingdom. Even though its called elder council its not necessary for member to be old, rather members represent each region of Rodna and are usually chosen from ruling vassal family or vassal himself holds seat at council. All people living in kingdom of Rodna are vassals to the king differentiating them in five categories: Boyars, lower nobility, citizens of first rank, citizens of second rank and serfs.

Boyars

Boyars are landed nobility, governing their estates in service of the king. Their titles are hierarchically divided into: Knayz (or in case of Velkopolska oblast Hetman) governing whole region, Ban-governing smaller part of region called banate. Grof-owner of small area and or castle

Lower nobility

Members of noble houses with no governance over any land holdings.

Citizens of First class

Common people that have right to own property and hold positions in governing bodies.

Citizens of Second class

Common people with no rights of property, for example elves and foreigners, they simply have a right to live in kingdom.

Serf

Peasants that are obliged to work on their masters fields.

Geography and people

Rodna lies in the middle of Zem, just above Chornozero lake and between Jarga, Blue mountains and Chrbat. River Rodna, for which country and its people are named, runs trough the middle of realm dividing it half. Consisting of five regions which were once separate petty kingdoms before unification. People inhabiting those regions are sub groups of major Rodnian ethnic identity.

Severna oblast

Norther region inhabited by Severians is one of currently least developed parts of realm, do to its rigid terrain and also do to catastrophic casualties suffered during Great War. Severans are proud and stubborn people, as staunch traditionalist they refused conversion to Way of Sacred Heart and are still loyal worshipers of Old Gods. Severians are great builders and so Severna oblast is home to most durable fortresses on whole continent. Current representative on Elder council is Kneginya Olena Radinova Kulenov.

Velkopolska oblast

Vast plains and fields of grain and barley are symbols of Velkopolska oblast, central region of Rodna. Home to Poliany greatest horse riders on whole Elesia. Polians are unmatched in their riding and fighting on horseback prowess. For Polian to be accepted among his peers he must complete Velika doroha, great travel, a right of passage. When polians turns 16 years old they will embark on a voyage riding their horse from eastern banks of Rodna river to Chrbat mountain in three days. Polians are hardworking but cheerful people living their lives day to day, when conversion came they accepted new religion more out of practicalism not to be bothered and left alone, even though many of them still worship Old Gods in secret. Current representative on Elder council is Hetman Danilo Petrovich Simonenko.

Chervonleska oblast

Great Red Forest. Home of Leshchany, one of most reclusive and isolated Rodninas. Leschany hidden deep in their mighty forest keep to the old ways. It is said that Old magic protects their home and they do not intend to dishonor their homeland and ancestors, by accepting new religion into their domain. As finest woodworkers they works are appreciated all over Elesia. Archery is one of others Leshchanyian obsession they are as skilled in using bows as well as making them. Contradictory to their reclusive nature they proven as efficient traders. With Crnograd c,apital of their old kingdom prior to unification, being one of largest trading hubs on Chornozero lake bringing them more prosperity making them one of wealthiest Rodnians, Current representative on Elder council is Radmilo Karadiordevich, brother of Knayz Miloš Karadiordevich

Borna oblast

Most developed region of kingdom, home to two historical capitals Borna, Ternčin and current capital Žilina. Borna thought all of recorded history has been the most influential regions for Rodnian people. Bornians , although their are not greatest warriors of all Rodnian people, their tendency towards diplomacy and statecraft made them most influential of all other Rodnian subgroups, through well thought marriages and treaties they secured their borders and elevated their position. When conversion came they accepted it with open arms as it open new opportunities for them. Current representative on Elder council is Martin Halubka, nephew of Cardinal Septimus Rod.

Ozerna oblast

Northwestern region of kingdom. Home to Zeran people, unparalleled artisans holding three of most fruitful iron mines in thees parts and with charcoal imported from Leshchany they created special kind of light but durable steel, proving that they are most skillful blacksmiths of all Rodnians. Bordering old Orlon Kingdom Zeran people developed friendly relations with Ousterans, trading with them for centuries they developed strong trade routes that they used to sell their products bringing them wealth and prosperity. So when conversion was enacted they accepted it willingly due to already established influence from their northern neighbor. Current representative on Elder council is Knyaz Daniel Richter
