Akroot

A mysterious Tiefling that is a veteran within The Golden Griffon Adventuring Company in Dameril. He seems to serve some greater being, and has a curious but adorable familiar.
At first glance the man can be somewhat intimidating, but those who know him say he harbors a will to do good.
Akroot was raised among despicable people, members of a cult that served Argothul, an incredibly powerful Archfiend. Despite the wicked surroundings of the Tiefling child, his heart was pure and he showed an innate goodness that the people around him lacked.
As such, Akroot was abandoned by his family in his teenage years, left to wander the lands on his own for years. When he finally tried to enter civilization he sought to join the Order of the Giving Blade, but was rejected due to his past. The depression that resulted caused him to wreak havoc, distributing chaos in a forest near the mountains. At the time he did not yet realize that within this forest was hidden a place of worship for an ancient celestial: A massive Felidar under the name Arun'Do'Ir. Upon sensing the goodness in the lost man, Arun'Do'Ir gave Akroot his blessing, under genuine belief that Akroot would do good with the power he was given.
For some time he trained under the guidance of the Felidar, who taught him many things, before urging him to seek out others who shared his will to do good in this world. With that in mind Akroot travelled to Dameril, a large city in the kingdom of Elladonia. There, he joined The Golden Griffon in his search for companionship, direction, and penance.
