Warder
Warder Gard (a.k.a. Steps)
Warder is a halfling innkeeper that lives and works in Heawick. He lived there with his wife, till she sadly passed away, and his dog Boldo, a hunting dog. After losing his wife, he never wants anyone else to feel that down, so he is perpetually happy and chatty. He always lets Boldo play with the children around town, as he is incredibly good-natured.
Warder lived in Heawick all his life, having inherited the inn, The Lonely Shephard, re-branded as The Laughing Fox, from his father. He eventually settled down with another halfling that lived in Heawick, Hilri, but a year ago she passed away from a degenerative wasting disease. This was also the time he changed the name and style of the inn. He also bought Boldo as a puppy, and trained him to be as gentle as kind as himself. He loves animals and peoples, and hates seeing people sad.
Warder is a jovial halfling, with wavy auburn hair and hazel eyes. He is quite short, and so uses a small set of steps to reach the bar, hence his nickname 'Steps' which always makes him chuckle. He wears modest garments, often layering many different pieces of clothing, jewellery, belts and pouches, scarves and belts. He does this so he can entertain children with prestidigitation, and so needs many places to hide coins and toys. He rarely has a frown on his face, and is well loved among the villagers.
