Sir

Those granted the title of Sir by any high ranking noble are often given land, servants, and social status. In return, they provide a service to their new lord. Most often this is miliarial, but can be most any type of service. In some cases, depending on the laws of the land, Sir can be bestowed upon an individual as simply ceremonial; a reward for a great deed or service.
