Dark Plague
"The plague didn"t merely kill people. No... it twisted and consumed them. Like a sadistic killer does to his victims. It was the worst death anyone could imagine. No being should have been tortured like the way the plague did" A doctor, talking about his experiences of treating dark plague patientsThough the moon of Lasintara has seen peace for the five thousand years or so, occasionally that has been disturbed and heavily so by a number of natural disasters. Storms, cyclones, hurricanes and many other natural disasters have struck the moons inhabitants but none were as deadly and nightmarish as the dark plague Believed to have begun around one hundred and thirty years ago, the plague quickly spread across all the settlements of the Holy Union on the moon. At its height, it was killing millions every day and was poised to wipe out the entire population of the moon in mere months unless a cure was found. Many thought that this was indeed the end of times. The plague was nearly uncurable and truly alien. No other cure or mixture of cures worked on it. It was extremely elusive yet violent at the same time, and it seemed that it would eradicate the peoples of the moon Till one day, a researcher found a unique solution. By exposing specimens of the plague to a special sort of light emitted by burning a sort of rock, the plague would be instantly destroyed. Due to its effectiveness, the plague couldn't develop a resistance to it as it usually killed all specimens of the virus. Thus turned the tide of the war. The Virus would be eradicated only five months later, and thus the people of the Holy Union would survive their deadliest ordeal The cure was also found to work tremendously well against most other viruses. This lead to a dramatic decrease in mortality, and the Holy Union rebounded unusually quickly from it. From the ashes it rose and now it stands, in a world full of darkness willing to fight its best against the enroaching forces of arkanos
