Fungular Growths
"I still remember Torakan. He overdosed on the medicine and became one of the first deaths we had from that accursed concotion" "But it does save us doesn't it? From an equally or far grimmer fate of choking to death with contagions swarming your innards in those jungles" "We traded one pestilence for another, equally as disturbing. Its addictive as hell too, which makes it hard to not overdose on it. I guess for now, the best bet we have is to restrain ourselves Two Argonite soldiers, talking about the disease brought on by overdosing on an anti toxic medicineFor centuries, the jungles and swamps of Nerikan resembled hell more than earth, except that hell didn't come in the form of giant magma chasms but rather in the form of poisonous and acidic clouds, swarms of carnivorous flies, giant maggots that laid eggs inside of you and many other forms of hideous beasts. The problem was so great that the Argonites who lived in the jungles, having adapted to it in unknown ways were almost completely isolated from the world. Though they could come out and live in other environments, it was impossible for any other sapient being to go there unscathed The problem would finally see a fix when an Argonite scientist from the jungle tribes of Nerikan managed to make a medicine that would allow others to tolerate the atmosphere for at leas a limited amount of time. The medicine, made of materials extracted from a fungus was highly effective and moreover, it was extremely addictive as well. This made Argonites who came to the jungles overdose on the medicine sometimes and though it was seen as boosting their resistance further, the first signs of the fungal disease followed soon
