The Sanguinor is a legendary figure that is found in many different novels, poems and plays in the Sanguine Imperium. The title was given to Mathias Christiansen, the first emperor and founder of the Imperium , who was seen as a divine representation of the Gods themselves that had been sent down to unify mankind under a single banner. Many legends also state that the Sanguinor will return again during the darkest times of the Imperium, and lead mankind and their allies to final victory after which, everyone will usher in an era of peace. In the times after the assasination of the last Emperor and the massacare of his entire family barring only three people, the people of the Imperium look upto the Sanguinor more than ever before, and hope that the legend is true, for they have no one else to turn to when their darkest hour truly comes
