Library of Clio
The Entrance
Hidden within a sacred tree in the woods of Vesper lies a door to the Library of Clio, a place where people who have reverence and respect for the history of Dellara can study and learn. Entering the sacred door is a simple task, once one solves the riddle. The riddle is carved in the door frame on the exterior of the tree. "I am not alive but bring to life- Love, laughter, beauty, and strife- Though I don't speak I never fail- To captivate you with a tale" The library affirms your correct solution with a gentle chime, and reopening the door allows you to pass down the stairs and enter the libary's next test, the foyer. The Foyer
Descending the stairs you enter a room entirely carved out of grey stone and are faced by two doors both guarded with a clockwork guardian. Between the doors in script is written upon the wall, "One only tells the truth, one only lies, but one guards the entrance, one the exit." The clockwork guardians can answer simple questions while guarding their posts and are not hostile unless provoked. Upon the walls of this foyer are 10 tapestries. Nine of these tapestries depict young maidens, and the 10th depicts a matron waving off 9 young girls. Upon descending the stairs, on the left side you see the first maiden with long loose wavy hair wearing a crown of roses, playing a lyre, and wearing a silky white dress. The next is a maiden with hair tied back, posed as if she is mid spin in a lovely dance. Following the dancer is a maiden playing the flute. The next maiden portrait is of a girl dress humbly reading a book, followed by a woman wearing all black, holding a boquet of thorny roses with droplets of blood speckling her hands. On the right side you see A young woman looking up at the night sky with a telescope in her hands, the next one appearing to be singing off of some scroll, a woman who brances her abdomen and holds her face, blushed like she is mid giggle, and the last appearing to write by candle light in some scroll wearing what appears to he holy robes. The last tapestry on this side is of the back of a woman with long wavy dark hair who faces away from you waving to 9 girls who appears to be running over the top of a hill in the distance. After deducing the entrance of the libary from the clockwork guardians you pass down a tunnel where keen ears can hear the stone sing as you gain entrance to the Library of Clio. The Library Proper
Well stocked with beauitful shelves and a large bronze basin with a roaring fire, this library has plenty of tables and chairs and comfortable seats to perch and read for hours and hours. The stone in the walls gently sings to provide comfort and peace. The library itself is scarttered with clockwork guardians who are capable of answering simple questions and will only attacked if provoked or they fell the library itself is at risk. Near the entrance of the library is the Chest of Clio where vistors may take on a piece of her heart in order to pay tribute to her mother at the Temple of Mimir. In the center of the libary is a large table carved and stained with a map of Delara itself. The pedastol near the bronze basin is enchanted with the ability to assist people who seek in ernest, it will help them find what they are looking. Patrons place their palm on the pedastol and think of their question, and the libary leads you to the correct book with your answer. [/section]]Purpose / Function
