Fords of the Aulcarr
Geography
The Aulcarr river is immense – over 132 miles wide and over 1,603 miles long. The only crossable point of the river is the Fords of the Aulcarr, where the land rises high enough for caravans, horses, men, and animal to cross the river. Guarded on the eastern and western sides by the immense Sofayon Fortress, the Fords of the Aulcarr are extremely safe and much tamer when compared to the rest of the river.
At the Fords of the Aulcarr, the river is at one of its smallest points (width-wise) – only 52 miles wide. The Seren Empire forbids traveling after twilight, consequential of a merchant band setting up camp and being swept away in the middle of the night.
