Hailstorm Mountains

Geography

The Hailstorm Mountains are located below the Khata-Tahr Deserts and are some of the most dangerous mountains in all of Orim. High peaks, along with subzero temperatures and an almost constant rain of hail and snow, characterize the mountains.
Winding, cavernous paths are patrolled by Alkom and wharrs. “Mourges” and “alturi” snow monsters are common.
During the Age of Mist, a slave from the Gold Coast escaped and braved the Khata-Tahr Deserts to arrive in Hailstorm Greater, hotly pursued. The only way for him to go was into the Hailstorm Mountains, an almost certain death; however, he knew that the pirates he was pursued by had many holdings in Hailstorm Lesser, and it was his only chance. By good fortune, he entered the Cavern of Fathoms, which ran all the way into the idyllic Alactian Valley. The slave was the future Eternal King Tamoré, who created the Kingdom of Alactia.
