Orreries of Miaska

Miaska is venerated as the Cosmic Mother, the embodiment of all that is good, life-affirming, and creative in the universe. It is believed that she is the originator of the Other Gods and of Elodris itself. For this reason, devotees of Miaska describe her as 'The Mother of All Things' and associate her with omnipresent objects the heavens and luminous celestial bodies such as stars and Great Barrier; an aurora borealis that now covers the sky of Elodris. Her presence in the night sky is seen as a comforting, protective embrace that watches over all living beings.
Her followers are known as Star Mourners
Miaska's temples are renowned for their breathtaking glass ceilings, which allow worshippers to gaze upon the night sky and its celestial wonders during services. The starlit canopy serves as a reminder of the goddess's presence and her nurturing influence. The Star Mourners only hold service at night under the light of the Great Barrier. For this reason, the temples of Miaska are referred to as Orreries.
Miaska's blessing is sought in times of transition and growth. Especially in times of uncertainty. Her night sky is a canvas of possibilities, reminding her followers that even in the darkest of nights, there is always a glimmer of light. Her followers believe that by invoking her, they receive guidance and strength to overcome obstacles and bring forth positive change.
Elodris' Winter Solstice, which marks the 24-hour period with the fewest daylight hours of the year, is considered a joyous high holy day of celebration and revered in the days leading up. Members are encouraged to spend the week prior to the holiday with 7 daily instances of prayer, feasting, bathing, and group copulation, with the night of the Solstice itself marked with a feast of lights and food.
By contrast the Summer Solstice is considered a time for reserved atonement. It is commemorated with a week of prayer, confession, fasting, and abstinence that culminates in the ritual ingesting of Miaska's Quivering Eye, a vaginal shaped plant who's death bloom has psychotropic affects.
