Spider, Dire
An ancient species of spider, they are monstrously large and primarily found in thick, ancient forests. Almost as large as a Dire Wolf, it is said they even are intelligent enough to understand language, though most scholars agree that Dire Spiders are quite evil in general.
Unlike a normal spider, they have a double set of mandibles, the first to immobilize their prey, the second to deliver the paralysis poison. They are covered in a stiff, bristly wolf-like fur.
