Spider, Wasp

Wasp Spiders are a rare variety of giant spiders. Six feet long, they make their globe-shaped web homes high in wide trees like oaks. They are venomous, but don’t deliver the toxin with a bite. Instead, it’s through the stingers on their two prehensile tails.

These insects are adept at climbing, being able to scale flat surfaces or even wide ceilings that can support their weight. But their preferred means of movement or attack is flying with glistening, rainbow-hued wasp-like wings.

In the wild, a single hive contains anywhere from two to four Wasp Spiders at one time. Scholars believe that wasp spiders may be related to an ancient, pre-historic people, and so it’s possible that wasp spiders have a language and culture. So far, no ranger or druid has engaged wasp spiders in conversation.

They are highly predatory, to the point of possibly being evil. Wasp spiders are terrifying opponents that have little regard for any life, including their own kind, outside their own hive and its domain.
