Stalker
A stalker is known by many names: Stalker, Faceless Stalker, Graveknight, Gravewraith. However, they are all the same dangerous creature. Normally, they resemble a humanoid figure draped in a constantly flowing black hooded robes. In battle, they shed this for gold-trimmed, black armor.
A type of wraith, Stalkers are the undying tyrants and eternal champions of undeath itself. Stalkers rise from the fallen bodies of nefarious warlords, disgraced heroes, or villains to merciless to submit to death. Warped and twisted, they have a distaste for the living and will assist with most any plan to torment those that enjoy what a Stalker may never taste, feel or enjoy once more.
All Stalkers possess a weapon, usually a sword, that contains a portion of their essence. This weapon is normally a twisted mockery of the weapon they used in life and has been known to possess the living if handled too often. Those possessed will slowly be transformed into a Stalker as well.
Stalkers are vulnerable to blessed spells and – as they do have a semi-physical form – can be battered down. However, this will be at great cost to the attacker.
Also, all Stalkers have a vulnerability they conceal to the best of their ability. If someone were to – in the original name of the Stalker – perform a truly noble or selfless act or right one of the wrongs they committed in their life, the Stalker is then immediately undone.
