Steelforge

Originally a foundry with a nearby town for the workers, a surprisingly large vein of copper and iron ore and an unusual concentration of gemstones such as turquoise, agate, and emeralds caused a growth boom in Steelforge that turned it into one of the larger mining communities of the Republic. Gemstones and ore are regularly shipped to all across the Republic for building, artwork and so on. The aspect of mining a person’s wealth of gemstones has brought many a fortune hunter to the city, creating a lively mining camp atmosphere with all the good and bad that entails.
