What the SNAFU Posse just heard roll across the blackened grass was this voice:

and what they see is the massive form of a young bull standin' up on his back hooves.

He's got that same coloration pattern as the calf spotted by Ranger Bruthazmus, Monk Lee Chung, and apprentice Chef just a few days ago.

Same coloration pattern exactly!

Right down to the crown brand that encircles the bovine brow.

This big'un gives every physical indication of an age more than half a year past that barely-weaned calf!

Take into account that whole mess of standin' upright, though...

... and the green-glowin' horns ...

... not to mention the warhammer clutched in one forehoof, nor the battleaxe lifted into position by the other forehoof

I would say the SNAFU Posse has got an eeee-normous problem confrontin' them!

Reckon a narrator ought to say a few words about all them other personalities shamblin' between the short-cropped grass of Sarsparilla Ranch and the ash-choked sky of a noonday dark.

But every motion of them two weapons is trailing a shadowy haze through the air.

Plus there's that sound.

Y'all hear that, right?

Ain't just a specter spawned inside my own head?
