Kuatke Ti Langit Character in Elotia | World Anvil

Kuatke Ti Langit (Cat-kay Tee Lang-gi)

Panangtwan Kuatke Ti Langit (a.k.a. Kua)

Kuatke Ti Langit was a bupat (regent) of Nimb in the forty two eochs directly prior to the Clouds in the Vale. Kuatke was widely esteemed by other bupat as well as the walikmak (elected monarch family), leading to his eventual election as the panangtwan.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Kuatke was likely borne in Lak'in'ho, though birth locations are generally seen as unimportant among the Nimbian people. They were borne into a indugal family ("one parent") with little substantial social status and they grew up within the communal families that are common in Nimb.   When Kuatke reached an age to be and flourish on his own, they often spent their days on the northern shores on Nimb, fishing in the western reaches of the Broken Sea and creating boats and other structures for those who needed them. At some point, they migrated back to the central part of the island and became an educator while studying under a matasabar, learning about the culture and history of their own people while also challenging their fellow students to games of intellect and thought. Eventually, the matasabar encouraged Kuatke to ask to study to become a bupat, though Kuatke thought they were too old to begin such a journey.   At some point thereafter, Kuatke did approach the kahiji of the walikmak to inquire about studying the path of the bupat, and they were surprised to find that they were readily welcomed. During this learning, they discovered that one of the mothers of the walikmak had not only purchased a boat from them in the north, but she had also challenged them to intellect games (and lost) and sent her youngest child to their classes. She viewed them highly and believed that they would make a strong bupat for their people.   Over time, Kuatke became a well regarded thinker within the bupat school, and they also began to meet with the walikmak mother regularly to discuss matters of nation and of thought. She slowly introduced them to other members of the walikmak, which led to the walikmak valuing Kuatke's advice over others.   During their time as bupat, Kuatke helped navigate Nimb and the walikmak through many dangerous storms seasons, prevent starvation and disease through a strong understanding of magical diseases and how to build vessels which could navigate the swamp mires within the Awan Forests. Additionally, Kuatke helped influnece the rulers of the Vale (from afar) to leave Nimb in peace (though how exactly they did this is not known).

Gender Identity

Kuatke, throughout their entire life, identified as hijikel (meaning "one gender", in the sense that Kuatke was all gender identities in one person).

Social

Family Ties

Kuatke had a relatively small family, with only one sister and one parent (their father). However, their father's family was large and Kuatke grew up with many of their misans and leumisans. Through their father's family, they were related to Bajkal, the leader who won the Clouds in the Vale for Nimb.
