Elphora

Elphora is a country currently ruled by a Queen. It is known as a vast religious place, with one city being dedicated to each of the 9 gods within the land. Elphora often (although not always) took a peaceful approach to war. It heralded itself as a place of the Gods and therefore tried to stay neutral, as to not tarnish it's image. The only time the nation intentionally entered into conflict was when their forces were great and overwhelming - where they'd be able to send a message that Aife was always on their side.   To go along with the image that the country was a deeply religious place, Elphora became known for its large number of clerics. Monasteries and temples became common features across the land, with even small towns having significant religious features.   Elphora has largely positive foreign relations. It has been able to maintain working relationships with almost every nation on Vanor outside of wartime, having extensive trade options. The exception to this is Constonia - a nation that they have historically been in conflict with. Although currently at a time of peace, the last conflict between the nations happened within the last 30 years. The ideal would be to have the borders have as much restriction as possible, however the Treaty of Vanor states that all people be allowed to cross over the country borders for religious reasons.   Dale Eargo, arguably the most important mortal religious figure, came from Elphora and the place where he worked has become a pilgrimage site for people all over Vanor. Because of this, every nation within the continent of Vanor is required to allow the free movement of people in and out of it's country   Elphora has both land and sea borders. The large number of sea borders has paved the way to Elphora having a large naval presence. While the navy is thriving, the infantry and cavalry are currently weak. There is no mandatory military service and with Elphora's great defeat during the last war many military-interested individuals are opting for private guarding or the navy.
