Port Troumouth

Port Troumouth is the fourth smallest city in Elphora. It is dedicated to Njord, God of the Waters and Sky. It sits on the south coast.   The city is known to be the biggest exporter of seafood in Elphora, although it doesn't compare to other powerhouses in Vanor. Its biggest seafood exports are Queen scallops and herring. The biggest business in Port Troumouth, Troumouth Fishery, is known for its unique method of preparing herring. It is known that it involves smoking the fish, and that after being prepared this way it can last up to a month to allow for transport, although the exact method is kept a strict secret. The pre-prepared fish is a common dish across all of Elphora, served often with potatoes, however the city gets a decent amount of tourism based on the knowledge that the freshly cooked herring are better quality.   Port Troumouth is also home to a ship museum, as well as a large numbers of harbours.   As Elphora's only proper port city the navy is stationed here. Of every city it is also the most diverse, home to people from all over Vanor.   Port Troumouth is know for it's excellent beaches and seaside tourist attractions. It has a long pier which features a miniature golf course. You can often get donkey rides for children, and during different seasons different exotic creatures can be ridden as well. There is also an oddity museum, featuring mainly monstrous creatures such as goblins, kobolds and bullywugs. While the company claims that all of their oddities have chosen to work there the morality of the attraction is often called into question.   In terms of entertainment, the city is home to a large floating market. Merchants will sell out of boats while curious customers will walk wooden boards, loosely tethered to the side. The spectacle is topped of with floating lanterns, making it an incredibly popular night time event. There is also an award winning aquarium, notable for a portion of it literally being under the sea. For more adult entertainment Port Troumouth boasts a red light district featuring supposedly the world's best brothel, The Devils Doorbell. It has the option of any humanoid race, but what makes it notable is that it's the only registered location with monstrous races, such as merfolk, yuan-ti purebloods, or harpies. Legend says that for those looking for a challenge they can even find a succubus.   On the 27-28th of Nordama (Month 2), Port Troumouth hosts LaDorin (or The Great fishing Day), as a celebration of Njord.   The city is run by Duke Isaak Sternclod, who has not held the postion for very long. He recently became a widower and is struggling to do anything while dealing with the grief.
