Side Plot: The Darkening

'The Darkening' as it was called is a disease that as far as the party know has only affected one person: Lila.

Plot points/Scenes

Session 2

• The party met Lila and learned about The Darkening
• She has been ill for about 8 months and doesn't know how much longer she'll live
• The Darkening is a disease that weakens the immune system and body, as well as darkening patches of skin, First it goes grey and leathery, then it turns black and hard. If left untreated this will continue to expand to the whole body. As the skin changes it becomes difficult to move that area
• She showed the party two different patches of skin that had been effected
• Just under her left breast had been effected but cured
• A second amount was growing on the back of her right hip. It had started to spread enough to prevent some movement.
• There was no known cure although a local apothecary (Potions & Lotions) was able to provide a treatment that would slow the spread

Session 5

• There is potential for a full cure so the Lila goes to Brightcrest to find out more
• The cure is too expensive for now

Session 15

• They finally have enough money - 950g - to pay for Lila's treatment
• They decide to get it as soon as possible as Lila looks weaker
• After a number of days at hospital Lila appears to be completely better. She o longer looks ill
