Asheville's Light-tower
Purpose / Function
It is place for the local Lightkeeper to work and live in. Thus, it has a star-crystal that allows one to manipulate the day-night cycle. It also works a central location for people that are afflicted with magical problems.
Alterations
Originally, the attached residence building was smaller, but has since been expanded.
Architecture
Like most Light-towers, this one greatly resembles a lighthouse. There is a tall stone tower eight stores tall with its base emerging from a single store rectangular building, plus a slightly raised basement level. The tower is wide enough to have small room in each level, plus a spiral stair case.
The place has a total of four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a library, an office, a spell-casting room, living room, kitchen, supply closet, pantry and laundry area.
The backyard is supposed to have a garden with a green-house but it has become so overgrow that the current residences are not even aware that the green-house is part of the property.
Wards and Enchantments
The light-tower has a standard suit of wards meant to protect the people inside it's property. There is a general ward that prevents magic from coming from the outside and wards against disease, poison and mind-control. The structure is also reinforced against physical harm.History
The tower is eighty years old and the main residential expansion is forty or so years old. It was built in the outskirts of the original Asheville location, done so because it made closer to the other settlements in the area.
Originally, only a single lightkeeper resided here, but in the decades since, one of the lightkeepers acquired a large family and expanded the house accordingly, this was technically against the High Library of Magic regulations, but was overlooked.
When the dead city started expanding in the nearby area, the place was transported to its current location. This made necessary the retuning of the crystal and also caused the greenhouse's windows to shatter. The current lightkeeper moved shortly after.
