Tiermbus

The symbol of leadership of the Kaalier, Tiermbus was originally created by the god of Stories and Song as a sign of good faith, charging them to spread his influence. Tiermbus is what all other flutes have since been modeled after. Dionder of the Velranir created the item by pulling a branch from an ebon tree while singing. His song transformed the branch into flute that was black as night with golden filigree. Tiermbus longs to inspire those that feel things deeply, but lacks the talent with words, to express themselves through melody. Maerli Kalindan still holds Tiermbus, and though she has lost much of her mind in her old age, she still moves the attendees of the Diond Stage and Academy with her skill with Tiermbus. As she nears her inevitable expiration, Maerli is keenly looking for who will be the next bearer of Tiermbus.

Properties

Tiermbus is able to incite or calm any emotion within its listeners; multiplying any emotion felt by the performer depending on their skill with the instrument. Additionally, those that perform on the instrument often develop a deeper understanding of what types of music move people to other emotions, allowing them to pass this knowledge on more effectively. The instrument is not obviously sentient, but it's wielder often can feel its faint desire to uplift or provide solace to those that need it through melody.

Tiermbus

Wonderous item, legendary (requires attunement by a bard of non-evil alignment)
If an evil aligned bard attempts to attune to Tiermbus, the attunement fails and they must make a DC 20 Charisma Saving throw or feel deep remorse. They are stunned for the next 10 minutes as they try to regain their composure.
If attuned, while holding Tiermbus you gain a +3 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DCs of your bard spells. Additionally, you have one extra use of your Bardic Inspiration feature.
As an action you can riot or calm specific emotions of any that can hear a performance of Tiermbus. You may cast calm emotions at will, or charm person at will as long as you are playing the instrument. The spell save DC is equal to your bard spell save DC. Feel free to work with your GM to come up with more creative uses, and consider what feels thematic for your game/setting.
