The people of Xukuth are known to be incredible artificers and inventors, but one of the inventions of the Xukuthians that draws the most controversy is the firearm. 
After an internal gang war nearly broke out in Xukuth in 1389, the Valsharess have since banned the export of firearms and imposed strict laws within the city itself for their usage. Every firearm manufactured is given a serial number and registered with the Valsharess' court. Anyone caught attempting to evade registration is liable to have their workshop and tools removed from them, and are blacklisted. Some are even imprisoned depending on the type of firearm or weaponry they were making. 
Every firearm, once registered, is also magically tied to a special license to carry. The wielder of this weapon is not allowed to conceal it within the city. And the license is tied by blood to the wielder, so a transfer of ownership has to be registered with the Valsharess' court as well. This license assures that the wielder of the firearm covets it and will make them feel very attached to their weapon, and they will go to great lengths to retrieve it if it goes missing.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The firearm is a mechanism powered by black powder, and it fires off ammunition in the form of balls or bullets that are precisely sized for that particular firearm. 
Though it is quite a reliable weapon, there is a chance of it misfiring and injuring the person who wields it.
