Gaaya

The Vassa speak a dialect called Gaaya, which is lyrical and beautiful, and has 2 forms, Blueblood form and Common form. Most Vassa above a certain caste are allowed to speak both forms alongside lub suab. Gaaya looks like music scores, with a bar at the top of the letter and ‘drops’ of shapes that form the word.

Considering how this language seems to flow like music even when spoken, many bards and poets who study Gaaya do write the most incredible sounding songs and poems. There is a 5 part epic, originally performed as an opera, which was written down in Blueblood Gaaya. Despite the opera being nearly 3 hours long, most audiences will gladly sit through and watch the whole thing, even weeping at the tragic parts, despite not knowing the language. Gaaya in song can be very evocative and emotional, and this language, like many others, has words that simply cannot be translated into any shorter than a sentence.
