Half-Atlantean

Half-atlanteans are the offspring of humans and atlanteans. Drawing from the versatility of humanity and the physical and mental agility of atlanteans, Half-atlanteans are the pinnacle of both species. Half-atlanteans are indistinguishable from humans, only rarely does one have the purple or indigo color of their atlantean progenitors. Despite all this half-atlanteans are exceedingly rare, fewer than ten are known be currently alive.

Regions

The only half-atlanteans are found in the Heartlands, specifically around  Algafa and a few around Rivvik.

Racial Abilities

Standard Racial Traits

  • Ability Score Racial Traits: Half-atlanteans are varied in nature, but all are very intelligent. They gain +4 Dexterity, +6 Intelligence, +2 Wisdom, +4 Charisma and a +2 racial bonus to one ability score of their choice.
  • Type: Half-atlanteans are humanoids with the human subtype.
  • Size: Half-atlanteans are Medium creatures and thus receive no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
  • Base Speed: Half-atlanteans have a base speed of 30 feet.
  • Languages: Half-atlanteans begin play speaking Common and Atlantean. Half-atlanteans with high Intelligence scores can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic).

Feats and Skill Racial Traits

  • Ancestor Memories: Half-atlanteans add the Old Blood skill and a Knowledge skill of their choice to their list of class skills. Additionally, they receive Skill Focus (Old Blood) as a bonus feat.
  • Bonus Feat: Half-atlanteans select one extra feat at 1st level.
  • Skilled: Half-atlanteans gain an additional skill rank at first level and one additional rank whenever they gain a level.

Senses Racial Traits

  • Thoughtsense: Half-atlanteans can detect and locate conscious creatures within 30 feet, as if they possessed the blindsight ability. Nondetection, mind blank, and similar effects can block this effect. Thoughtsense can distinguish between sapient (Intelligence 3 or greater) and non-sapient (Intelligence 1–2) creatures, but otherwise provides no information about the creatures it detects.

Psionic Racial Traits

  • Psi-like Ability: Half-atlanteans may use detect thoughts and telepathy at will. A neo-atlantean’s manifester level is equal to their character level.

Offense Racial Traits

  • Swordtrained: Half-atlanteans are trained from birth in swordplay, and as a result are automatically proficient with swordlike weapons (including bastard swords, daggers, elven curve blades, falchions, greatswords, kukris, longswords, punching daggers, rapiers, scimitars, short swords, and two-bladed swords).

Anatomy

Half-atlanteans are almost physiologically identical to humans.  The sole difference is that the cortexes of their brain are more developed, granting them natural psionic capabilities, as opposed to humans, who only have latent psionic potential.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Atlanteans rely on hearing and sight for a majority of their perception.  When that fails, they have the ability to focus and sense the surface brain activity of living creatures out to a range of about thirty feet.  This ability only detects the presence of brain activity and does not actually read the thoughts, but it does allow them to distinguish between sapient and non-sapient species.
