Elysium

After the collapse of modern society, the remaining survivors began to rename Earth in their own native tongue. For how could they refer to something so cherished, so dear, so home, that no longer resembled any of those features? Collectively, this new planet became known as Elysium; a land relinquished to the survivors to appreciate and relish in the splendors that life - no matter how bleak, dire, or cruel - carries with it.   Set in an alternate reality where the technology of tomorrow progressed with the aesthetic ideals of 1950's retro-futurism. The Last War spelt doom for much of the planet, desecrating vast cultures and the thirst for artistry. And thus, society halted with a warped perspective on destiny. Raygun Gothic and Atompunk dominate the landscape, with remnants of a society anticipating a world beyond our own. In the great reaches of outer space. Sleek designs, neon colors, and alternative interpretations of weaponry lay in waste, rotting from the wreckage of a war that left permanent scars upon Elysium.   As radiation swept across the deserted plains, mutated creatures began arising from the dust. Alongside them, villains hellbent on controlling provinces which, to them, meant the world, but to the world, meant nothing at all. Behind all this were the Unseen; a name coined by the scant traces left. The four horsemen of the apocalypse, raiding the remains, pillaging what's left.   You are a Sentry. Operative's tasked by self-governing officials to deal with intermittent troubles in surrounding areas through the use of Specializations. These skills are known and mastered by a select few.
