Derum

Derum look like flying sting rays crossed with a catfish that are roughly the size of a loaf of bread. Derum are sometimes called sky rays for their similar appearance. These creatures are often considered pests, especially in larger cities, as they feed on ambient weft and will find theit way to sources of dense weft like weaves, usually destroying or at least disrupting the weave in the process.

Despite being pests, many people find Derum to be cute and keep them as pets. Derum do not take particularly well to domestication, as they are fairly unintelligent, but they are docile enough that they can be easily kept as a pet.
