Driftmaw

Driftmaws are like giant jellyfish with a crown of spines that fly through the air instead of the sea. Their stingers are not venemous but rather deliver a paralyzing current of electricity. At the base of the tentacles is a round lamprey like maw.

Driftmaws are slow and unintelligent, they rely on their transparent body and ability to silently fly to hunt prey via stealth. Their body makes them extremely hard to spot while high in the air, and it is not unheard of for travelers to suddenly find themselves amidst a swarm of driftmaws after resting for the night. Driftmaws do not sleep and sometimes hunt by simply running faster creatures to exhaustion.

Despite their size and hunting patterns, Driftmaws not agressive so long as they have been fed and are largely not a threat. They have been domesticated and are used as work beasts, especially among the T'chunak.
