Royal House of Araminta
The House of Araminta are direct descendents from the daughter of Thydona Ezohr, Araminta Rozumin. Araminta was the adopted daughter of Thydona who ruled Ilythyra after her mother's demise.
She was born circa 20 B.U. somewhere in the Lorasian Empire. In that twenty year span she was adopted by Thydona and was named as the individual who would lead after Thydona. After Thydona's disappearance, Araminta was elected as Queen of Ilythyra and ruled from 0 A.U. until 297 A.U. In 113 A.U. Araminta gave birth to a daughter, Liliana, who was later crowned as a princess of Ilythyra and next in line for the throne. Araminta died in 297 A.U. at age 317 when out on a quest to fell one of the last remaining ancient dragons in the world, a Blue Dragon named Barak.
Liliana began her rule in 297 A.U. at age 185. She eventually had a daughter, Halanaestra, in 330 A.U. at age 217. She ruled from her mother's death until 398 A.U. (approximately 101 years) before ceding the throne to her daughter. She gave up the throne when she felt her time ruling was over and her daughter was ready. As of the year 498 A.U. she was 385 years old.
Halanaestra took the throne at age 68 in 398 A.U. after her mother ceded the throne to her. She had a daughter, Falaern, born in 441 A.U. As the current ruling queen, Halanaestra has indicated that she plans on ceding the throne to her daughter in 500 A.U., keeping with the traditional practice of only ruling for about 100 years as well as allowing the Quincentenary of the new calendar to be rung in with a new ruler. As of the year 498 A.U. she was 168 years old.
Falaern has been in training since her birth to take over ruling the city-state of Ilythyra. Much of her time has been spent with the clerics of Ilythyra and Thydona as well as in University. When she was 15 years old she officially chose Thydona as her patron and dedicated much of her time to the study of the saint. She derived much of her power from her worship and study of Thydona. She leads many of the emissaries to the outside world and has taken the loss of most of the emissaries very personally, to the point of heading out into the world herself to try and find them. As of 498 A.U. she was 57 years old.
The rulers of this house sit on the Shimmering Throne in the Royal Palace of Ilythyra. The throne is comprised of a white wood, inlaid with mother-of-pearl with shell, ivory, and pearl ornamentation. So far, there have only been Queens to the throne though this is not a rule. The throne passes to the eldest child of the ruler.
