Cleric

Clerics are respected and revered among the followers of the faith they choose to follow. In most cases, as long as the cleric is a member of the same pantheon as the followers, they are respected, no matter which god they represent. Magic performed by a cleric is not strictly considered to be “magic” in the manner used by Wizards, Warlocks, or Sorcerers, believed by most to come directly from the divine. Therefore, it is often given a pass when it comes to use throughout populated centers. Clerics are found for nearly every faith in Emicara, sometimes they are referred to in different manners, such as wisemen or shamans. Every race and culture has at least some form of cleric, with the sole exception of the Bahamis, as the jealous djinn rarely part with even the slightest amount of magic.   The opinion of the public and other clerics is less dependent upon the class archetype than with other professions. The important factor about most characters and adventurers serving the gods is which god they actually serve. Different domains serve different roles in the myriad Emicaran societies. See the various religion articles for more details on gods, domains, and who they serve.    Adventurer Disclaimer: As an adventurer you are automatically an exception to racial rules! The story is about you, and therefore, you can be expected to break boundaries the majority of people in the world of Emicara are typically restrained to.
