Mayor Hilarious

Hilarious is a well known snallygaster, who was hatched in the city of Demon's Rest in the Mersan Union. Even as a hatchling, he was viewed as a prodigy in the ways of mimicry and song. He was born to a very poor nest of laborers and dockworkers, and seemed destined to follow a similar fate. When he was only ten years of age, however, he found a benefactor who aided him, by providing him with a venue for a performance for some of the wealthiest citizens of Demon's Rest. He proceeded to mimic the performance of one of the finest human sopranos ever heard in the Demon's Rest opera hall. His performance ended with him buried in commendations and awards, and he became one of the most renowned singers in all of the Union.
Hilarious proceeded to tour the cities and towns of the Mersan Union, and achieve even further acclaim and popularity among the masses, and hundreds would travel for miles to see him perform. The only criticism he faced was occasional allegations that he was indebted to the Conclave of Shadow Nests, a loosely organized criminal network made up of snallygasters. He frequently denied these claims, and in the mid-1030s, he became an outspoken critic of the prejudice that many humans in the Union displayed towards snallygasters. In coming home to Demon's Rest, he embraced a political career, unifying his own people, and simultaneous becoming popular among the working classes.
Having created a base, Hilarious was viewed as a shoe-in for the next mayor of Demon's Rest in 1036 elections. Armed with ample financial support and popular support among the snallygasters, he was faced only with opposition from the wealthy of the city. Most of his campaign was financed by donations from the poor of the city, and he proceeded to win in a landslide, promising working class reform and an increase on wealthy taxes. He has so far stuck to his guns, and this has led to multiple assassination attempts, including one poisoning that very nearly killed him, but damaged his vocal cords. He may never be able to sing again, but he remains a treasure to the workers of Demon's Rest.
