Lizardfolk
Lizardfolk are still seen as monsters by most of the people of Emicara. They have no presence in the monstrous kingdom of Populres, due to the colder weather and climate. They instead are said to be from a hidden kingdom deep within the swamps south of Losana. They are occasionally seen in Losana as traders or adventurers, and will sometimes raid or help ships that run aground on Losana’s soggy coast.

Naming Traditions
Lizardfolk have naming styles quite alien to that of humanoids. They typically use the "s" sound extensively and make names more suited to their elongated jaws and mouths. Some living in human cities will take on names more similar to that of humans, particularly those raised directly among humans.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Lizardfolk speak a language known to them as "Krahke" This language relies heavily upon hand gestures and movements, rather than spoken words. It exists in fairly unadulterated forms among all lizardfolk, regardless of their land of origin. They are capable of speaking Common, but most choose not to whenever possible, as some Common sounds can be painful to most lizardfolk jaw shapes.
History
Lizardfolk are another race that were nearly driven to extinction by the Nameless Empire. They were driven into the swamps of the south, rather than fleeing into the cold mountains like other races. They fortified their borders and established kingdoms of their own, hidden within the depths of waterlogged lands. Occasionally the Nameless Empire would launch raids into the swamps against them, but they consistently failed to completely wipe them out. Due to the high rate of birth among the lizardfolk, they would quickly bounce back after even the most devastating of attacks. Today, a large and powerful lizardfolk kingdom is known to exist in the swamps south of Losana, but their true strenght and geography are unknown, as lizardfolk kill others that intentionally enter their realm on sight. They still have engaged in a limited amount of trade and commerce, and will occasionally assist ships and individuals who accidentally wander into their home.
There are two other groups of lizardfolk known outside of the kingdom south of Losana. One are exiled lizardfolk who have built a community of their own in the city of Riveraineville. They have been welcomed into that community and are well known as sailors and merchants within. They have become essential workers on the docks and in the fisheries of the city, filling out the city's lower classes. Ever since Riveraineville officially won its independence as a Free City from Losana, however, the lizardfolk have been allowed a growing role in the city's military, staffing combat roles both among the city's marines and navy. Another lizardfolk society is suspected to exist in the region south of Jakonia, but appearances of them have been far and few in between, and some believe that these so-called sightings are simply oversized kobolds.
