Periklis Moraitellis
Kyrios Periklis Moraitellis
Periklis Moraitellis is the youngest Kyrios in the history of the University of Pegrama. He was born to a poor farming half-elf family outside of the outskirts of Makriathea. His parents had recently fled Parthenonas after the events of the Elfhunt Pogrom. Seeking a simpler life away from those who threatened their livelihood, his parents raised him to become a farmer. The farming life was ill-suited for Periklis, and he sought instead to pursue a greater ambition. He found an old guitar in the ruins of an abandoned barn nearby and began performing in Makriathea when he was only thirteen. His skill was noteworthy, all the more for being untrained. He was selected to join the College of Music in the University of Pegrama.
When he began to receive training, Periklis began to demonstrate a talent for the guitar far surpassing any of his contemporaries, and putting some of the greatest masters of the instrument to shame. In the Royal Competition of 1025, he showcased a series of songs that moved the Queen herself to tears with a somber song commemorating the end of the Wingo War, gathering his name great acclaim. He became famous and wealthy very quickly, and achieved patrons for his music across the cities of Alsona. As his income grew, so did Periklis' fame, and the Queen continued to support his craft. The ultimate display of respect came in 1034, when he was appointed the Kyrios of the University of Pegrama by the Queen herself.
For the most part, as Kyrios, Periklis has stayed out of the day to day management of the university, choosing to allow his subordinates to manage policy and the colleges. He has shown little interest in the bureaucratic nature of the job, and has chosen to regularly continue his performances, retaining a close relationship with the Royal Family.
