Serpent's Tongue

The language known in the Civilized Lands as the "Serpent's Tongue" is commonly spoken by the strange humans in the isolated trading cities south of the Circle Sea. These trading cities speak a language that has no basis in Elder Common, unlike the majority of languages in Emicara itself. This language is incredibly uncommon outside of merchant trading circles, and even then, it takes a brave captain of a sailing ship to go south. Those who speak this language are just as likely to offer to trade goods in their ports as they are to storm a ship, capture the crew, and sacrifice them to heathen gods.
