Warlock

Warlocks are the one class which can face severe persecution nearly anywhere in Emicara. Those who make bargains with demons or Old Ones are feared and hated by more traditional magic users. Due to the lack of formal magic training centers in the Civilized lands, Warlocks are typically forced to seek their powers from illegal covens, even in the most wild of realms. They will find themselves frequently hunted by both the majority of pantheons and the Church of the One Sun for their sins of consorting with unholy creatures. Only those who made a bargain with the fey may find some relief, and these types of warlocks can sometimes even find support and kindred spirits among the hidden elven enclaves. The sole exception to all of this is the Kingdom of Populres, and the races there are the only ones who can practice the magic of warlocks with impunity.
