Water-Born

Water-borns descend from merulien, aquatic genies from the Elemental Plane of Water. Water-borns are perfectly suited to life underwater and carry the power of the waves inside themselves. Their skin is often shades of blue or green, sometimes a blend of the two. If they have a human skin tone, there is a glistening texture that catches the light, like water droplets or nearly invisible fish scales. Their hair can resemble seaweed, waving as if in a current, or it can even be like water itself. Water-borns look generally human except for some distinguishing features. Their skin is usually sea-foam green or blue. A few other, rarer, features were found amongst water-borns, such as lightly scaled skin, clammy flesh, blue-green hair, excessive perspiration, blue-black eyes, or a muffled voice that sounds as if drowned in water. Some water genasi might also cause the water in the air around them to condense when afraid, another result of their elemental ancestry. Compared to other elemental children, water-born are often slightly more durable, but also less strong.
