Azryth

(a.k.a. Death)

This mysterious and ominous figure is at the center of or even plays the villain of many pantheons over the almost four million years Emynea has existed! Humans fabricate their own beliefs and mythology surrounding Azryth who has little interaction... with the living. Like their counterpart, Luxis, Azryth lacks a physical body. Both Luxis and Azryth only interact before birth and after death, acting as divine coordinators which compose the orchestra of souls underlying all life and death in Emynea.

Azryth is the personification of death and their counterpart Luxis is the personification of life. One could consider them admins of the universe, able to manipulate and alter the structure and mechanics of Emynea. Of course, they still have their own rules and limitations but they are by far the most influential entities in Emynea. One example of their rules is that they are bound by any pact they form and this is also true for the lesser divines, the Erlithmanil.

Purpose

While Azryth is the more grounded, responsible and farsighted one between the two of them, they are also the most feared and misunderstood. Azryth's true role is to collect and process souls after death. Otherwise, their duty is to do whatever is necessary in order to repair, untangle and purify souls so that they can be recrafted anew by Luxis! For the sake of this new soul, it is best if any influence from a previous life is removed whether these are traumatic memories, pervasive corruption or bad habits. With enough time and attention, Azryth works out these corruptions of the soul so the next lifeform has a fresh start. It then falls to Luxis to recraft these unravelled souls into a new life!

Few entities even among the Erlithmanil understand the importance of the balance Azryth maintains. The only being fully aware of Azryth's task is Zalikar who has formed a pact with Azryth. Azryth is most often vilified by humanity who only perceive the physical results of death. Azryth finds their fear and beliefs of what lay beyond death to be nonsensical and flamboyant. Yet they have come to dismiss human religions in order to focus on their work. They rarely interact with the living, only seen directly by those capable of perceiving the dead. Sightings are more frequent in places where many have died or where ghosts may linger--battlefields, graveyards, hopsitals, plague-stricken cities. Here Azryth or those who serve them seek out souls which cling to the world of the living as ghosts and spirits. Some animals are even rumored to capture, consume or transports these lost souls to their master!

Characteristics

Azryth is consistent, precise and impartial. They take no joy in the ending of life but understands the necessity of death for life to flourish uncorrupted. They are particularly realistic, empathetic, considerate, devoted to their role and pragmatic. They unravel the souls of the dead with the greatest care and empathy, showing their own unique means of expressing their love for humanity in their role. In fact, they can become impatient, severe, cynical, farsighted and harsh when dealing with the impulsivity and zeal of their counterpart, Luxis, who enjoys accusing Azryth of stealing their creations. Azryth may overlook the individual for the sake of the bigger picture, capable of the harshest choices to counterbalance Luxis or to unravel the most broken or corrupt soul left in their capable hands. Unlike Luxis, Azryth isn't attached to any given form, most often taking up an appearance which is comforting to the dead such as the face of a loved one.

Oh, I like this one too. Giving a lot of Dio de los Muertos vibes. that kind of pretty yet kind of creepy mixed with a hint of unsettling.

Yes I wasn't sure what I was gonna get when I plugged this into the generator! Azryth doesn't have one specific look or even preference like Luxis does. I saw all the skulls that came out though and loved it myself.
