Ancient Kindom
The ancient kindom is the name given to the long lost kingdom whose ruins are found all across the continent by the current population of the continent.
While most of the information about the Ancient kingdom was lost to history there are ancient tales and legends commonly told around the continent establishing a vague idea of a vastly powerfull and ancient kingdom whose destruction was brought upon itself by it's last king.
While extremely limited information regarding the ancient kingdom has been uncovered and preserved in the ruins in the years since it's fall, this information is highly guarded by the governing authorities of the continent who seek to use the ancient knowledge to further their own agendas.
Merfolk especially seem to have a strong connection to the ancient kingdom known among their people as Azlantanu whose storytellers and wisemen have been recognized to have the most accurate information on the ancient kindom though the spread of this information is strictly limited to those worthy of said knowledge and protected through a oath empowerd with ancient magic enabling the reciever of the knowledge to only use the information to guide and advice others or teach succesors
