Wampyrs
Basic Information
Anatomy
While wampyrs normally appear human, they have elongated fangs for puncturing the necks of their victims, draining the blood from there. Some of them develop feral, animalistic expressions when caught in battle or while they are feeding.
Genetics and Reproduction
Wampyrs being nominally dead, they do not normally procreate in the human way. Rather, they proliferate through biting the skin, usually in the neck of a living victim. The target is drained, and then sometimes fed blood from its attacker.
Growth Rate & Stages
They can potentially live forever. They never age, are immune to disease and disability, and will die only by violent means.
Ecology and Habitats
Wampyrs have a tendency to avoid sunlight as it weakens them and naturally tend to seek dark places such as crypts, abandonned castles or caves.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They feed on blood of living creatures, typically draining their victim of all of their blood. Although it can happen, wampyrs typically hunt alone, their need for blood enough to create conflicts over their prey if they were to partner up.
Drinking hawthorn berry tea renders one unappetizing to wampyrs.
Behaviour
Wampyrs usually stay alone or in very small groups of two to three individuals as they are very possessive over their victims, never sharing it with their kind in recorded history.
With varying degrees of intelligence amongst individuals, majority of them do not try to create new wampyrs as it would mean more difficulties finding food and staying hidden.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
They have enhanced sense, enhanced agility, night vision, superhuman strength and speed as well as supernatural regeneration
Civilization and Culture
History
Created by Mem Aleph at the beginning of the Second Period, they are bloodthirsty creatures more famously known for being the underlying reason of the hawthorn berry tea drinking habit.
Sometime during the Second Period, a carnage occurred caused by wampyrs. It is unknown how many victims the wampyrs killed, but some traces lead to think it was at least three hundreds. The carnage stopped after people started drinking hawthorn berry tea at least once a day.
