Kalyx (KAY-licks)

Kalyx was the first leader of the Kalyxian Empire. The title Kalyx and the empire were both named for him, as he was the one that united the lands and consolidated the Empire.
He was born into the monarchic line of a small kingdom near the center of the world, where the capitol of the Kalyxian Empire would eventually be. When he became king, he began a campaign to expand his borders. He conquered and united the whole of the Empire within his reign using a combination of magical power, military strategy, and diplomacy. 
Kalyx fathered many children with his harem of concubines, however, near the end of his life, he fell in love with Cara, who bore him only one child, Tanyx. He had largely ignored his previous children, but he favored Tanyx as a son, giving him the highest level of formal education possible and insight into his empire, and eventually a general position in his . Tanyx grew up attending consul meetings and being tutored by the empire's foremost scholars. He 
He sponsored the creation of a life-extending serum which he used to extend his reign long past the normal lifespan of a human. However, he was killed by assassins at the age of 496. He left behind no stated heir, however Tanyx took the throne.
